TAG Heuer Watches or Rolex?

For those who are planning to buy a wrist watch as a gift or for their personal use, they would ask what kind or what particular brand they should buy? Some says go for Rolex, some will say try Tag Heuer. Both of these watch maker are well-known, I am writing this comparison to clear up some common misconceptions about these brands.

Let’s start with the quality and value. Tag Heuer watches are superb in terms of quality from the materials being used and up to the features that it offers including the chronograph, accuracy, and durability. On the other hand, Rolex is a Swiss manufacturer of mostly mechanical wristwatches renowned for their dependability, prestige, and cost. It is not considered the best watch among high-end watch experts, but it is still the most recognized name brand among the general public. Next thing on line is their warranties and service. Both watch maker will give you a two year warranty on most models, and a three year warranty on others, take note there is no lifetime warranty. These watches should usually be service every 4-5 years. This can cost about $500 for a TAG watch and up to $1200 for some Rolexes. If there is already repair on it via third parties, it will no longer be certified by COSC (Controle Official de Suisse Chronometres). Next is appearance, every new model of TAG looks different and the diamonds it uses are F to G color while Rolex uses D color diamonds. Rolex from 70’s are still quite similar to designs of today. Lastly, is about the cost of the watch. A Rolex is generally more expensive than TAG watch, if you compare similar models, though we are not sure if Rolex will retain its value over time.
